Farming & Discipleship

During the Summer of 2017 we went through a sermon series called Farmer, Soldier, Athlete. Using 2 Timothy 2:1-7 as a framework, we explored what the vocations of farming, military, and athletics had to say about discipleship. There Paul tells Timothy

"Endure suffering... as a good SOLDIER of Christ Jesus... And ATHLETES cannot win the prize unless they follow the rules. And hardworking FARMERS should be the first to enjoy the fruit of their labor. Think about what I am saying. The Lord will help you understand all these things."

So we spent some time reflecting on how Farmers, Soldiers, and Athletes could help inform our lives as disciples. In order to do this well, we went to local 'experts' in these fields. We talked with farmers, soldiers, and athletes in our midst and captured their thoughts and ideas on video.

Listen in on those conversations that we had with Ron Watson, Buck Bonilla and Jeff Harmon.

Ron Watson and Pastor Michael discuss farming and fruitfulness.

Ron Watson and Pastor Michael discuss farming and irrigation.
