been hurt in a relationship?

We all have!

We all have moms, dads, brothers, sisters, friends, grandparents, church leaders, and co-workers that we have stories about; stories of hurt, betrayal, disappointment and even abuse. Even though the pain is familiar to us all, it doesn't make it any easier. The end result is we often have walls around our hearts to protect them from future hurt.

This self-protective wall often prevents us from gaining what we all long for- intimacy and closeness.

So, what do we do?

The Bible is full of a wealth of wisdom and promises for relationship health. God made us to be in relationship with Him and with others and He has made a way for us to walk in healthy relationships. Family was His idea from the beginning and He knows how to take the dys out of dysfunctional family! We need to know what the Bible says about things like offense, bitterness, un-forgiveness, reconciliation, and restoration.

(dys)Functional Family

Over the course of five Sundays we will look at these topics:

  1. The Dance of Conflict
  2. The Root of Bitterness
  3. The Trap of Un-forgiveness
  4. The Necessity of Reconciliation
  5. The Priority of Restoration

But we want you to engage with more than just a sermon on a Sunday! Check out the resources below to dig deeper into the topics. Study them on your own- or even better yet- get your HOMe Group involved in the growing.
